Donor & Volunteer Coordinator

The primary function of this Donor & Volunteer Coordinator is to support the YMCA’s fundraising and community-building efforts through donor management and volunteer coordination. The role involves maintaining accurate donor records, supporting donor stewardship through personalized communications and recognition, and assisting in the preparation of fundraising reports. Additionally, the role includes recruiting and managing volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

Donor Outreach & Management: Maintain and update donor records to ensure accurate documentation of all contributions, communications, and interactions. Support ongoing donor stewardship efforts with timely personalized acknowledgment letters and recognition initiatives to strengthen donor relationships. Assist in preparing comprehensive reports detailing fundraising progress and donor engagement.

Volunteer Coordination: Help recruit, onboard, organize, and manage volunteers, including tracking hours and participation, as well as ensuring volunteers are fully prepared.

Marketing and Communications: Assist in developing and distributing impactful fundraising materials, such as newsletters, social media content, and event invitations, to increase awareness, engage supporters, and drive donor support.

Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the Director of Development, CEO, and other team members to align fundraising strategies with the YMCA’s core mission and organizational goals, ensuring an effective approach to community impact.

Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.

Attend required abuse risk management training.

Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers.

Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.

Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.

Other duties assigned by the Director of Development & Communications.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field preferred.

Experience with donor database management and stewardship practices, including personalized communications and recognition.

Strong writing and editing skills for impactful communication with donors and volunteers

Detail-oriented and possess excellent organizational skills.

Passion for Community Impact: A genuine interest in the Y’s mission and a desire to make a difference in the community.

Ability to work onsite. This is an in-person role.

Salary: $43,000 - $48,000 (Non-exempt, Monday-Friday - 40 hours/week)
