Description A local non-profit has teamed up with Robert Half to find an efficient Staff Accountant to join their growing team. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you'll have responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you will look over schedules for the reporting processes, participate in compliance, and keep in touch with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position involves a good deal of time spent on Payroll Administration, Accounts Payable processing, and servicing billing and grant contracts.Key responsibilities
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process
