SUMMARYThis position is responsible to shadow our experienced maintenance mechanics and use On the Job Training to learn the functions and repairing of the equipment in the Pottstown plant. Upon completion of training, the technician will provide 2nd shift maintenance support and preventative maintenance for the Pottstown plant.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Perform work safely and per company safety policies and work instructions.

Complete General maintenance duties; Duties include but not limited to the following functions - floor/ wall repairs, painting, light Building Repairs/ Modifications, Carpentry, Equipment repairs, etc.

Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems and using test equipment to diagnose problems.

Gather material for preventive work orders in a timely manner.

Maintain equipment, parts and supply inventories by checking stock in the maintenance department.

Effectively communicate with value streams and other internal customers to ensure work is produced to meet or exceed expectations and in a timely manner.

Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.

Meet quality, service, cost and efficiency objectives for each assigned work order.

Support walk-in work as assigned and make repairs to support production requirements.

Identify problems and make recommendations for solutions.

Support continuous improvement activities and kaizen events in all departments.

Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands/arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift/move weights up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 65 pounds.

These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

ASTM F-2412-2005, ANSI Z41-1999, or ANSI Z41-1991 rated safety toed shoes

Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses

Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas

Vocational or Technical training preferred

Basic mechanical knowledge and aptitude required

Demonstrates the ability to develop tooling, complex machinery, and processes to produce error free product and successfully transfer tooling and processes to full production.

Drive and sustain 5S activities within the department.
