THE POSITION

Are you ready for a new administrative challenge? The Department of Environmental Protection is seeking a Clerical Assistant 2 to join their South Central Regional Office team. This position provides clerical support for the Reading District Office and some of the duties are as follows:

Edits letters, reports, transmittals, Notices of Violation and various other correspondence on a computer from original source documents to prepare for distribution.

Receives office visitors and either assists them or directs them to appropriate personnel.

Processes incoming and outgoing mail. Weighs and applies correct postage to all outgoing mail. Opens, dates stamps, and distributes all incoming mail. Responsible for operation of postage meter, including ordering postage and having the postage meter replenished electronically.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly rate of $18.05 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or

Graduation from high school; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.
