Description Senior AccountantA client of ours is looking for a Senior Accountant for a contract role. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively to ensure accurate financial reporting. This role will provide critical support to the organization’s financial operations and strategic goals.Responsibilities of Senior Accountant

Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP or IFRS standards.

Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.

Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and collections.

Monitor and report on budget performance, variances, and financial trends.

Assist in the preparation of tax filings and liaise with external auditors.

Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to improve efficiency and safeguard company assets.

Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.

Participate in special projects, such as system implementations or process improvements.

Requirements

Skills/Qualifications of Senior Accountant

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.

5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.

Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.

Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of ERP systems and familiarity with data analytics tools is preferred

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
