GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The General Contract Laborer is responsible for Laborer and general duties and responsibilities which will include, but not be limited to, working on residential and commercial job sites located in Berks, Montgomery and 7 surrounding counties providing emergency mitigation services, site demo, repairs, remodeling, etc. This position requires the highest level of work ethic with honesty and integrity, a positive attitude and a team spirit. Successful General Contract Laborers will be hardworking, self-motivated, safety-conscientious, and punctual.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Emergency Water, Fire & Smoke Damage Mitigation, Site Demo and Clean-up
Attends safety trainings, company, and customer meetings
Maintains clean, organized job site, company vehicle and warehouse
Follows established safety rules and regulations
Assists in the installation of walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as: wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials.
Fits and installs window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim using a carpenter’s level, plumb bob, and laser levels.
Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
Assist with Building or repairing cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.
Assembles and fastens materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
Removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools.
Inspects ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures.
Moves necessary materials around jobsite as assigned.
Cleans up worksite debris
NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Any additional miscellaneous job duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Carpentry Experience including but not limited to woodwork, cabinetry, drywall, tile and flooring
Excellent communication skills with all contacts
Professionalism and adherence to company policy
Standards of high-quality workmanship
Attention to detail
Excellent time management skills
Problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
Knowledge and understanding of local permits, building codes and ordinances
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Certifications in emergency services, such as water, fire, smoke, or mold is preferred, but not required.
Experience painting, minor plumbing, minor electrical, roofing, tile
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
The ability to lift 50 to 100 pound objects to a height of 3 to 5 feet
Work in indoor/outdoor working conditions
Must have a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
