Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for our Occupational Health department. They will be responsible for off-site and on-site tasks as well as periodic on-call and off shift hours. Conemaugh Health System serves more than a half-million patients each year through the Nason Physician Group, Conemaugh Physician Group and Medical Staff, a network of four hospitals, specialty clinics and patient-focused programs.Essential Functions:Assists with the operations of the Occupational Health (OH) Department.Making suggestions for revisions when needed.Adheres to OH policies and procedures, makes suggestions for revisions when needed.Performs drug screen and alcohol collections, audiograms, blood pressures, Spirometers, injections, and other duties following proper procedures. Performs offsite if needed.Retrieve Drug Screen results from Quest website, enters into Agility and reports via fax to company.Enters charges into Agility.Enters ICD10 Ecodes.Adds LIBC-9 to new incident, prints charting notes, and mails appropriately.Performs patient intake using EMR. Documents appropriate information in an accurate and concise fashion.Answers the phone and greets persons at the door in conjunction with other staff.Performs the following for all Nason Employee New Hires or contract workers per their job description: resp. fit, spirometry, PPD, HBV, Tetanus, Audiograms, and provide Nason New-Hire orientation books and schedule lift tests.Assist provider with communication to company representative as needed.Assists with scheduling referral appointments as needed.Assist provider with patient treatment when needed.Transports patients to Radiology or ED when needed.Performs BAT calibration, urine dip stick calibration, and audiogram calibrations monthly, weekly, and daily respectively.Performs twice daily logging of Med Refrigerator temperature chart.Performs weekly checks on medications and supplies and disposes of expired products properly and restocks areas with new supplies.Maintains drug screen collection protocol manual.Provides clerical and clinical duties for the Occupational Health Department.Performs registration of the OH patient, using company protocols, encounter form.Performs CLIA-waived testing in accordance with product standards and quality control measures.Addresses situations related to Occupational Health or CNMC in a timely manner.Organizational Expectations:Demonstrates support of the mission, vision, values, goals and general policies of Conemaugh Nason Medical Center.Complies with corporate compliance guidelines and requirements of federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.Adheres to the standards of professional ethics and handles confidential information in strict conformance with departmental and Medical Center policies.Provides quality care and services consistent with Medical Center standards and participates in the Medical Center’s Continuous Quality Improvement Program.Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in response to unexpected changes in the workload, emergencies, staffing and scheduling.Uses tact, sensitivity, sound judgment and a professional attitude when relating with co-workers, patients, families, and visitors.Performs duties in a self-directed and cooperative manner with minimal need for supervision. Keeps updated regarding Medical Center changes through meeting attendance and review of posted information; attends briefs, debriefs, and huddles.Abides by and references the Employee Handbook and other pertinent facility policies, including clinical, non-clinical, safety, and infection control.Job Requirements:Minimum Education:Successful completion of Medical Assistant Program is required. Minimum Work Experience:Previous experience working in a Physician’s Office, Clinic or Hospital preferred.Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation, FMSCA, OSHA, FMLA and ADA laws and regulations preferred.Drug Testing procedures for DOT and Non-DOT types, preferred.Alcohol Testing procedures – Breath and saliva, preferred.Audiometric, Spirometry, Respiratory Fit Testing preferred.Computer skills: Occ Health Software, Microsoft Office, and EMR preferred.ICD10, CPT, HCPS coding experience, preferred.Proficient with copiers, faxing, scanning and clerical duties.Licenses and Certifications:Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
