The Quality Engineer assists the Manager ofContinuousImprovementandQualityto ensure that the organization's products and services follow the company's quality requirements, in addition to complying with customer and regulatory requirements for quality, safety, and reliability. This is anonsite position, andour ideal candidate would reside within commuting distance of our Decatur, TN or Sharon, PA manufacturing facility.Through application of the duties listed herein, first priority is to ensure our customers are satisfied with the quality of the product sold to them. Secondarily is to assist the Manager ofContinuousImprovementandQuality in solving internal quality problems that lower production efficiency and increase cost due to rework.
Assists in the development, implementation, and adherence to the quality program.
Perform periodic audits of in-process quality checklists, forms, and other documents; randomly inspects and verifies quality control check for conformance to prescribed standards.
Audits work performance to standard operating procedures.
Performs quality audits and reports findings to Manager ofContinuousImprovementandQuality; assists in the development of corrective actions and the timely resolution of findings.
Assists in the development of in-process quality standards that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Assists with the tracking of warranty issues to ensure the accurate collection of root cause analysis data.
Participates in and leads, if necessary, root cause and corrective action (RCCA) analysis to help resolve quality defect issues.
Directs quality related activities in conjunction with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and any other department/function that affects the quality of the organization's goods and services.
Maintain and updates policy, procedures, and standard work instructions as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.3 to 5 years manufacturing experience
Experience as a quality engineer,technician or process and/or product quality related role
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to train staff.
Familiarity with quality control standards and methodologies.
Thorough understanding of manufacturing and production in the industry.
Excellent organizational skills with an eye for attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience
Willing to travel 30% of the time.
