Shippensburg University is currently accepting applications for an Admissions Recruiter. This full-time temporary position will last nine months.These positions serve as on-the-road recruiters to attract and educate prospective students about Shippensburg University. Duties include representing Shippensburg University in recruiting through high school visits and college fair programs, participation in recruitment events on and off campus; and contacting prospective students through correspondence and phonathons. General recruitment activities such as participating in recruitment training sessions and prospective-student group information sessions and open houses are all part of the duties of this position.
Reports to and is supervised by the Associate Director of Admissions.
Conducts recruitment travel for freshman, transfer and graduate students at various college fairs and high school visits. Extensive travel occurs during the fall and spring semesters and requires overnight lodging. Must be able to lift and carry large quantities of recruitment publications for extended distances.
Researches assigned recruitment territory and provides accurate information and validation regarding proposed travel schedule. Implements an efficient travel schedule. Achieves required goal number for high school visits.
Performs general counselors' duties which include: daily group information sessions, interviews with prospective students, tours of campus and responds to various questions via telephone, email and paper correspondence.
Participates in Open House programs, Group Visits, tour guide program, special group visits and other special on-campus and off-campus Admissions-related programs.
Participates in professional development activities if available and approved.
Performs other related admission duties as assigned by Director of Admissions or Director of Enrollment Events & Orientation.
