Product Development Chemist - JR2410486DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The S&T Product Development Chemist will be part of the Architectural Coatings Research and Development team. You will be responsible for formulating, preparing and testing new and existing products, evaluating new raw materials, maintaining existing products and working with manufacturing to resolve problems. As a Product Development Chemist, you will work hands-on in the development of world class coating technologies. This position is located onsite in our Cheswick, PA. facility. You will report to the Supervisor of S&T Product Development.Key Responsibilities

Ensure adherence to all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations, standards and policies to help eliminate health hazards to prevent work stoppage and time loss due to accidents.

Drive projects against set milestones to deliver results.

Coordinate related activities including formulation, processing, testing and application

Perform and document generally standardized, routine chemical and physical test of finished goods and compare the results with established standards and customer requirements

Work closely with product management, manufacturing, and procurement organizations, to develop new products and maintain existing product lines through formulation and product optimization

Support manufacturing to ensure quality products are delivered to customersQualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, Engineering, Polymer Science, or a relevant technical field.

US Citizens or Permanent ResidentMinimum of 3-7 years of experience working in a lab setting.

Previous experience in architectural, waterborne coatings, or other coatings technology and/or coatings manufacturing is preferred.#LI-OnsitePPG pay ranges and benefits can vary by location which allows us to compensate employees competitively in different geographic markets.
