Associate Scientist
Lab associate scientist position requiring processing and analysis of biological specimens in a Clinical Pathology laboratory. The lab associate scientist will be responsible for performing a variety of clinical laboratory tests in the areas of haematology, clinical chemistry, immunoassay, coagulation and urinalysis. The lab associate scientist will conduct quantitative and qualitative chemical analysis of body fluids such as blood and urine, and perform cell counts and assessments of cell morphology using a microscope. The lab associate scientist will also assure accuracy and validity of test results. They will need to perform calibration and maintenance of instruments to ensure adherence to established standards of accuracy and safety procedure.
Preferred candidates should have an Associates or Baccalaureate Degree with MLT, MT or MLS certification with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) with 1 to 5 years or more, of experience working in a Clinical Pathology lab.
