Functions under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, interfacing with clinical services.  Plans, implements, directs, and evaluates nursing care provided to all patients admitted to Brookdale.  Provides exceptional care to our patients through assessment, monitoring and communicating observations to the essential members of the treatment team. ResponsibilitiesThe duties listed below reflect the general details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent in the position. Responsible for suicide risk assessments. Demonstrates respect and empathy towards patients and peers. Assess psychological and medical issues, prioritizing and reporting to the proper clinical staff and leadership. Complete medical and nutritional assessments upon admission, chemical dependency, and suicide history, documenting all issues appropriately. Administration of medications per Brookdale policies and procedures. Promotes restoration of health, patient and family education and serves as a patient advocate. Administers TB testing to patients in accordance with PA Department of Health and Brookdale policies. Maintain, adhere to, and promote infection control measures. Provides patients with educational information.  Complies with all program policies and procedures as well as regulatory, Joint Commission, and Department of Drug and Alcohol accreditation standards. Coordinates emergency medical care for medical and psychiatric emergencies. Works with multi-disciplinary team to resolve patient issues, while also being able to work autonomously Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.  Performs other duties as assigned. This is a full-time position that will work overnight 7pm-7am. For a virtual tour of the facility, please visit our website at brookdalerecovery.com.
