Grace & Co., a leading manufacturer of specialty chemicals, has an immediate need for a rotating shift Quality Control Technician at its Tyrone facility. This position is responsible for obtaining product samples from the production process, preparing the samples for various tests, performing the tests, analyzing the results. This position also performs equipment maintenance on analytical instruments and prepares chemical solutions for use in processing materials. Position is in a high-pace environment; effective communication and prioritization skills are critical to be successful in this role. This position will ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards, as well as identifying, reporting, and resolving hazards. Responsibilities

Perform analytical tests on various chemicals produced by Grace to determine quality, purity etc.

Analyze data obtained from testing and document according to standard policy and procedures.

May troubleshoot existing or potential problems with equipment, chemicals and processes or notify the proper person.

Dispose of waste (chemicals and solids) produced in the lab according to Grace policy and procedures and legal regulations.

Adhere to all plant policies and rules on safety, fire protection, good housekeeping, operating practices and personal conduct. Ensure that all equipment is operated safety and that work areas and equipment are kept clean and orderly.

Required QualificationsBS in chemistry/related field or a degree in chemical technology from a technical institute. Preferred QualificationsThe incumbent should have good math skills and some mechanical aptitude for instrument repair preferred Benefits
