The Department of Mathematics of The Pennsylvania State University (University Park Campus, State College, PA, USA) is seeking outstanding applicants for tenure-track or tenured faculty positions in all areas of mathematics. We are primarily searching for tenure-track assistant professors, however candidates for associate or full professor positions may exceptionally be considered. Candidates who may bridge our current research strengths and/or interact with researchers in other disciplines are especially encouraged to apply. Probability and related fields is an area in which the department would like to expand. The department is committed to an inclusive academic community and welcomes applications from underrepresented groups.Candidates for Assistant Professor must possess a terminal degree or its equivalent in organized research or professional practice; must have demonstrated ability as a teacher or research worker; and must have shown definite evidence of growth in scholarly or professional achievement.Candidates for Associate Professor must possess the same qualifications as the assistant professor, but must also provide evidence of an established reputation in scholarly or professional achievement.Candidates for Professor must possess the same qualifications as the associate professor, but must also provide evidence of a substantial record of advanced research and of leadership in their field of specialization.Competitive applicants for the positions, which include research, teaching and service duties, will meet the following requirements:

Have been awarded a Ph.D in Mathematics or a closely related field.

Have a strong record of research accomplishments, a compelling future research plan, and the potential for achieving outstanding international research standing.

Have an ability to achieve classroom teaching excellence at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
