DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Business Occupations Teacher you will be responsible for developing and adapting curriculum, course outlines, lesson plans, and instructional methodology in teaching education courses in specialized business occupations for inmates. Work involves separating known skills into teaching units to provide organized individual and group instruction to inmates involving both theory and practical job skills training. Work includes diagnosing and evaluating inmate potential, achievement, and progress by administering standardized and teacher-constructed tests as well as grading inmate progress in both theory and occupational competency. You will be responsible for monitoring inmate behavior to ensure an effective learning environment in the classroom while also maintaining security of instructional materials. You will have the opportunity to complete records, reports, and forms related to the operation of classes and the evaluation of inmate performance. Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week

Work hours are 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in business, education, business education, or a related business education field, which included or is supplemented by successful completion of either student teaching or a teaching practicum, in a business-related subject approved by the degree granting institution or one year of classroom instruction experience in a business-related subject.

Other Requirements:

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
