THE POSITIONAre you someone who takes pride in keeping things clean and orderly? The Department of Transportation is currently seeking a motivated and reliable Custodial Worker 1! In this position, you will perform routine manual work in the custodial care for the Columbia County Roadside Rest building and surrounding grounds. DESCRIPTION OF WORKThe main duty of this role is to provide custodial support for public roadside rest areas and their surroundings. It is essential to maintain a clean and safe environment, which involves regular cleaning and minor maintenance tasks for the buildings and grounds. The focus is on using appropriate methods and materials for cleaning and maintaining the facilities and equipment. This position typically works under close supervision or follows established routines, performing tasks such as mopping, scrubbing, polishing, dusting, and cleaning restrooms. Additionally, responsibilities may include outdoor maintenance tasks like grass cutting, hedge trimming, snow shoveling, and keeping the premises orderly. Other duties may involve replacing light bulbs and performing simple repairs. Interested in learning more? Full-time employment

Work hours are 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Sunday - Thursday, with 30-minute lunch.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
