THE POSITIONThe Department of Banking & Securities ( DoBS) is seeking talented and highly organized professionals interested in information technology and cybersecurity with a background in accounting or financial auditing. As a Depository Financial Institutions Examiner 1, you will have the opportunity to perform on-site support functions for examination software, Microsoft Operating System, and Microsoft Office software issues. DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Depository Financial Institutions Examiner, you will be trained on the various FDIC examination tools, NCUA examination software, and technology issues. You will have the opportunity to work with FDIC developers and programmers on new examination software versions and beta test software before production. Work includes completing on-site exams, reviewing reports of exams, as well as reviewing and evaluating network configuration principles of firewall technology concepts used in system testing. You will be responsible for analyzing records and operations to determine compliance with laws and regulations, and then discuss with management any irregularities or violations you may have discovered. Additional responsibilities include:

Recommending changes to exam procedures

Preparing component and composite ratings for the Uniform Rating Systems for Information Technology

Creating and presenting presentations detailing deficiencies

Maintaining knowledge of current and developing technologies

Traveling extensively to and from assigned work locations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, home headquartered

Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

A bachelor's degree with a major in accounting, finance, economics or information technology including or supplemented by nine credits in accounting;or

An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes nine college credits in accounting.

Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
