We are seeking a hardworking individual to join our food service team at the Southeastern Veterans’ Center (SEVC). Your work will help us continue to provide exceptional care for Pennsylvania’s veterans. DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Food Service Worker 1, you will perform routine work in the preparation of meals and the sanitation of food preparation and serving areas of the SEVC. Your food preparation duties will include preparing and plating food items as directed, bagging items as necessary, preparing beverages, and loading and transporting food carts. Your food service duties will include setting up serving carts, reading and interpreting color coding for special diets, setting up serving lines, and delivering trays to residents. You will also clean and sanitize dishes, trays, countertops, and other food service items and preparation areas. You can expect to use equipment such as mixers, dicers, slicers, knives, and grinders. Additionally, you will attend trainings and in-service education to remain current with food service regulations. Interested in learning more? Part-time employment, 40 hours biweekly

Work hours are 1st shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, rotating days and weekends, with 30-minute lunch.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

Previous food service worker experience preferred.

Legal Requirements:

A conditional offer of employment may require satisfactory completion of a medical examination and drug screening.

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
