Experience the satisfaction of public service while enjoying professional career growth and numerous promotional opportunities!DESCRIPTION OF WORKA person in this seasonal, Semi-Skilled Laborer position for the Buchanan Forest District performs a variety of duties alone or assists a skilled worker and may function as lead worker for a small crew of manual workers performing routine tasks. These include grass mowing and trash clean-up as well as cleaning and maintenance for latrines, restrooms, buildings, picnic areas, and equipment. This position also participates in trail and road clearing, wood cutting, wildfire suppression, and recreational sign maintenance projects. Forest resource conservation, protection, and customer service projects and assisting the Forest Maintenance Supervisor in meeting established goals and expectations in support of the Bureau of Forestry and DCNR are among the many other opportunities available in this position. This is a seasonal, full-time position WITHOUT benefits. The season runs from approximately March until November at which the employee is placed on leave without pay.
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Overtime may be required in emergency situations such as wildfire suppression.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction;or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Conditions of Employment:
You must possess a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
