What You Will Do:

Our Transportation Practice is currently seeking a Highway Engineer to join our Eastern PA highway team. This hybrid position will be based out of either Valley Forge Office (Audubon, PA), Philadelphia Office or Lehigh Valley Office (Allentown, PA). This is an exciting time to join the GF team!The successful candidate will be focused on project delivery and be proficient with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation design and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission policies, standards, and specifications. The candidate will serve as a highway engineer and project/task engineer for highway projects. The candidate will work with team members to deliver quality projects, on time and build client relationships through project delivery.This position requires effective time management, technical and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be articulate with a professional presence and solid decision-making, planning and organizational skills. A general understanding of how to manage/monitor scopes, schedules and budgets on projects is desirable.The Work You'll Do

Perform engineering design tasks for highway projects from preliminary to final design

Develop construction contract documents including plans, specifications, cost estimates and review construction documents such as shop and working drawings.

Establish working relationships and contact with client technical staff and project managers especially in PennDOT, local governments, and private clients

Provide engineering design services for traditional design-bid-build projects and design-build highway projects

Mentor and supervise junior engineers in developing plans, including but not limited to implementation and knowledge of cross sections, traffic control, drainage, and signing and pavement markings plans

Collaborate with highway staff to develop projects including but not limited to roadway, bridge, traffic control, signing, pavement marking.

Knowledge of hydraulic design, and preliminary design for environmental documents desirable.

Ability to work in a multi-discipline team to complete tasks within scope, schedule and budget.Education | Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required

Professional Engineering (PE) License registered in Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain within 6 months is required

5-10 years' progressive engineering experience in highway design is preferred.

Prior experience with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike projects preferred including being well versed in client design policies, standards and specifications.

Proficient in MicroStation, InRoads and OpenRoads design software required.

Stormwater/NPDES Permitting experience desirable, but not required.

Expertise with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) Company Overview:
