JOB SUMMARY: The Technician is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) system. This position performs routine inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and first-response repairs while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, company safety standards, and operating procedures. The technician serves as the first point of contact for identifying equipment issues and coordinating with maintenance, engineering, and operations personnel to maximize system uptime and performance.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Monitor the daily operation and performance of the Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) system.Perform routine equipment inspections and document operating conditions.Monitor temperatures, pressures, airflow, combustion efficiency, emissions equipment, and process alarms.Respond promptly to equipment alarms and abnormal operating conditions.Perform startup, shutdown, and operational adjustments in accordance with established procedures.Conduct preventative maintenance on burners, valves, dampers, fans, instrumentation, heat exchange, and associated equipment.Inspect expansion joints, ductwork, seals, and combustion components for wear or damage.Replace filters, gaskets, thermocouples, sensors, ignition components, and other consumable parts as required.Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and instrumentation issues.Coordinate with maintenance personnel on corrective repairs and scheduled outages.Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection logs, and operating reports.Ensure compliance with all MSHA, EPA, local, state, and company environmental regulations.Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, hot work, and other applicable safety procedures.Maintain housekeeping standards in and around the RTO equipment area.Assist with annual inspections, emissions testing, and regulatory compliance activities.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and emissions reduction.Support production by minimizing equipment downtime through proactive maintenance and rapid response.
