Willow Valley Communities is hiring a Resident Assistant or CNA for our Independent Living Nursing Department. The Resident Assistant or CNA will care for Residents under the direction of the nursing team, provide emergency care and short term care to Residents, and provide emergency care to Team Members and guests.Opportunities with WVC:

Responsibilities:
Responds to trouble calls with Resident Nurse to determine Resident's needs.
Maintains awareness comfort and safety needs of Residents.
Provides emergency response as needed: assists in CPR & AED response.
Responsible for giving emergency, acute and short term illness medical care to Residents following established medical directives and Resident Nursing department policies and procedures.
Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviation from normal. Takes finger stick blood glucose readings and monitors pulse oximetry.
Maintains Resident Nursing Office hours daily.
Checks and maintains emergency bags/cart on a routine basis.
Monitors and works with the Managers of Resident Services and Supportive Living team to plan and implement changes in level of living.
Transfers Residents by wheelchair, if needed.
Assists with managing the wellness meal program for Residents.
Responsible for bio-hazardous waste disposal from the nursing office to the bio-hazardous freezer, as needed.
Runs errands, directs visitors and answers the telephone, as needed.
Maintains accurate documentation in nurses notes and electronic medical records (EMR).
Uses computer programs and IPAD's.
Records Resident Vial of Life information into the electronic data base.
Responsible for completion of Resident Event and Team Member Incident Review Process (IRP) reports.
Assists and training of orientation of new Team Members in the Resident Nursing Department.
Responsible to function as the Concierge when coverage is needed.
Participates in department improvement which includes Corporate and department annual goals.
Attends scheduled nursing meetings and training/competency sessions.
Completes annual on-line training courses.
Stores, prepares and issues personal protective equipment (PPE) packs, treatment trays, and other supplies.
Orders, cleans, monitors and maintains medical supply equipment within the department.
Maintains and orders inventory.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Maintains current CPR/AED training.
Current CNA certification if hired as a CNA.

24 hrs/week
Schedule:
7:00am-3:30pm
Every other weekend and every other holiday
