Tax Preparer for upcoming Tax Season

We are a bookkeeping, accounting, tax and consulting firm located in York, PA. We work with clients of all different sizes in a wide variety of industries. What that means for our tax staff is exposure to all types of tax returns, both individual and business, for a diverse set of clients. Looking for experienced tax preparers ONLY

Available to work a minimum of 30 hours per week

Available to work mid-January 2025 through early-April 2025

Full-time or flexible hours available. Remote or hybrid work arrangements available.

Opportunity to return each tax season.

Salary paid bi-weekly with W-2 issued at the end of the year

Required Skills

Ability to work autonomously under the pressure of tight deadlines.

Ability to work with multiple clients, manage deadlines and projects, often simultaneously.

Excellent organization skills and strong attention to detail.

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, verbal and written - this position will have direct client communications.

Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Excel.

Experience with Ultra Tax Software a plus.

Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online a plus.

CPA or EA certification a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepare federal, Pennsylvania state and local tax returns, for small to medium-sized businesses and individual clients. Additional states as needed. Returns may include small business (schedule C), rentals (schedule E) and other related schedules.

Complete approximately 230 tax returns during tax season efficiently and accurately. (average of 23/week)

Prepare and examine accounting records for the preparation of business and individual tax returns.

Utilize accounting software, including QuickBooks and UltraTax, to assist in tax preparation.

Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information for tax return preparation and provide clear and concise explanations of tax-related matters.

Communicate effectively with firm personnel for information, client background, tax questions, etc.

Identify potential tax credits, deductions, and strategies to optimize clients' tax positions and minimize tax liabilities.

Stay updated with changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry trends, and apply this knowledge to client scenarios.

Ensure client confidentiality by following all company procedures regarding information handling.
