What you will do

Responsible for supporting current manufacturing processes and facilitating the continuous improvement of these processes in the plant facility. Develops solutions for production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling. Supports new products and programs by developing new processes, designing tooling and machinery, and developing production controls. Responsible for set-up of new equipment, ensures proper operation of the new equipment, and to teach others the proper use of this equipment. Accountable for applying sound economic methods to equipment and space utilization to meet design and quality criteria with the lowest expense and consistent with the facilities financial and non-financial objectives.

Location: Grantley Plant in York, PA.

How you will do it

  • Reviews specifications and bid proposals and cost estimate requests to establish the feasibility of accepting orders. Determines manufacturability, investment requirements, product cost and delivery schedules.
  • Develops processes, methods, tooling, and production controls for new products and programs; supervises their assembly and proofing.
  • Supports production to resolve any manufacturing issues.
  • Coordinates new product development and cost reduction activities.
  • Manages capital equipment planning and procurement activities.
  • Maintains, operates, and troubleshoots manufacturing support software.
  • Plans, supervises and executes work measurement, and defines operations and operation balance to TAKT time.
  • Plans, justifies and implements facility changes to produce the forecasted volume of product economically.
  • Designs machine tooling / fixturing using CAD software
  • Responsible for Labor Routings, Capacity Planning, TPM, and Cost Estimating.
  • Responsible for Tool Design and Selection


  • What we look for

    Required

    This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with one (1) to three (3) years of progressive, hands on manufacturing engineering experience. Strong background in machining preferred. This position also requires knowledge of formal problem solving methods along with experience with financial controls and product costing. Previous experience with new products and process introductions along with a working knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and procedures is also required. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and CAD software is required.
