Project Controller

Position Summary & ObjectiveResponsible for successfully driving the monitoring, controlling, and reporting of project costs, ensuring the costs stay on track and within budget. This position plays a critical role in securing project productivity and accuracy in project forecast, as well as diligent leadership in identifying and resolving any issues or discrepancies in the project data and cost quality assurance, effectively communicating with the project team, stakeholders and sponsors.Essential Functions Performed by the Position  Develop robust project controlling framework, ensuring effective adherence to applicable work instructions, guidelines and procedures.Accurately report project actual costs vs forecast, incorporating identified risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.Drive effective identification and implementation of cost-saving measures.Along with the project managers, drive the financial performance, ensuring that project expenditures align with the allocated budget.Work closely and collaboratively with project managers to provide timely transparency around project performance against budget.Compile and analyze project financial data to identify trends and variances, providing actionable insights for decision-making on a project-by-project basis.Drive the evaluating and mitigation of contract penalties, such as liquidated damages.Drive the preparation and presentation of reports outlining project progress, financial standing, and any potential risks or deviations from the plan.Collaborate closely with integrated masters scheduling team and other functions to provide timely financial performance updates to project managers and leadership.Support project managers in tracking project timelines, deliverables, and project milestones.Prepare regular financial status reports, identifying variances, and recommending corrective actions. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Experience using cost/estimating/scheduling/earned value computer applications (i.e., MS Excel, MS Access).Experience with earned value management systems in planning, organizing, performing, reviewing, and presenting.Experience identifying, analyzing, and solving complex problems.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with multi-disciplined team members, working effectively on multiple projects simultaneously.Experience serving as a subject matter expert and mentoring others on diverse topics.Experience with commercial contract terms and conditions.Experience with project risk management requirements in the areas of insurance, securities, guarantees, liquidated damages, etc.Experience with Epicor ERP systems.
