Job Summary

To perform this job successfully as a CNC Lathe technician, your job duties include reading blueprints, making precise measurements, programming and operating CNC machines, using CAD/CAM software is an elective skill while preferred it is not required, and selecting the best tools and techniques for specific materials. The individual must be able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds and stand for a ten-hour shift. They must be committed to quality, safety, communication and be a team player. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

ESSENTLAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

include, but are not limited to, the following:

Monitor and complete daily schedules.

Read, understand and work for company Operation Sheets.

Follow all company safety protocols.

Perform proper set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories to be used on projects.

Perform daily, weekly and monthly maintenance tasks to ensure machine longevity, including lubrication, cleaning, and tool replacement.

Supervise machine temperatures, ensure that machine has adegquate warm-up and cool-down time between jobs and replace coolant periodically.

Perform Tool Changes and monitor tool wear.

Monitor part cycle time and meet expectations.

Complete in process Inspection checks throughout the run cycle utilizing calipers, Micrometers,height gages, and document for ISO requirements.

Make adjustments as needed, catch mistakes as they happen and take necessary measures to eliminate errors.

Inspect all finished products for accuracy and uniformity to ensure product quality and uphold company reputation.

Ensure that every machine procedure is done in accordance with the strict guidelines of the company.

Perform preventative maintenance on machinery per procedures.

Inspect the work area and machines that were used during the day prior to leaving at the end of each shift.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Must be versed in reading blueprints to assess specifications and configure equipment to produce parts.

Reading of measurement instruments accurately is a must

Must have experience with Lathes

Ability to take responsibility for parts made & be able to stand behind your work.

Good work ethic and ability to multitask.

Ability to follow directions and work in a team environment.

Ability to read blueprints.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Mechanical background is preferred.

Past training as a lathe operator with programming skills.

Vocational training in related field of CNC Lathe operator.

Ability to program using different methods to test cut a part to print specs.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to set up, test cut, and check the entire process to produce the most accurate parts to meet demands.

Ability to understand what the cutting conditions are and make the necessary adjustments to provide a part in the quickest / safest manner to meet production needs.
