Railroad Equipment Operator - up to $32/hr

We are looking for experienced operators to join our team traveling to different job sites on the East Coast, to include VA, MD, DE, PA, TN, NC, SC and GA. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of railroad equipment used in the construction, maintenance and repair of railway tracks. Will do track work on ground when not operating.

Work schedule: 8 days on (10 hours shifts) then 6 days off.

Job Duties:

Safely operate various types of railroad equipment, including but not limited to track laying machines, ballast regulators, tampers and rail grinders.

Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure proper functioning.

Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Conduct pre-operational and post-operational inspections of equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.

Be prepared to respond to emergencies, such as derailments or track obstructions and assist in the necessary repair work.

Performs other duties that may be assigned

Qualifications:

Two years of experience operating various railroad equipment - Spiker, Kershaw Kribber Adzer, Tie crane, Tie inserter, Speedswing, grapple truck and other heavy equipment.

Experience using a variety of hand-held tools, including powered and manual equipment.

Practice safe tool and equipment use, following all safety regulations and guidelines.

Clear vision and hearing.

Excellent hand-eye coordination

Ability to understand and follow directions.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Must be available to work all shifts. Days, nights and weekends and travel.

Ability to obtain security passes for various government facilities

Must pass background check and DOT drug test

Must have reliable own transportation for travel to the jobsite.

Hazards: Weather, track, fumes, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform essential functions requiring various physical movements.

Must use all extremities, work outside in extreme temperatures and weather, and perform tasks like crawling, kneeling, and bending.

Occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.
