We want everyone who works at CVS Health to feel empowered by the role they play in transforming our culture and accelerating our ability to innovate and deliver solutions to make health care more personal, convenient and affordable.Position SummaryReporting to the SVP, CFO of the Health Care Delivery Segment (HCD), the Executive Director, Accountable Care Finance will lead financial operations and be a strategic partner to the President, CVS Accountable Care. CVS Accountable Care partners with health systems to enable their participation in CMS programs such as ACO REACH and Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) as well as assuming risk with Medicare Advantage plans. This business is expected to generate nearly $4 billion in revenue in 2024, growing over 200%.

This individual will play a leading role in the creation of financial analytics and operating performance measures that support profitable operations, growth, new business opportunities and investment strategies. She or he will assume overall responsibility for the finance function and will infuse a continuous improvement mindset across the finance team to support the business’ rapid growth, ensuring the ongoing development and management of people, processes, financial systems, financial reporting and analytics.

Responsibilities:

Provide overall leadership to the management reporting, financial planning and budgeting processes. Lead efforts to drive the analytical rigor of the finance team so that business decisions throughout the organization are informed by analytical insight while improving the organization’s ability to leverage and manage data. Develop standardized data sets for business measurement, business planning, performance management and reporting.

Drive financial planning, reporting, and analysis (including the monthly/quarterly results and estimates, the annual budget process, and the long-range plan).

Drive and maintain a highly analytical, metric driven culture. Work with the operating team to drive relevant KPIs and accountability, to deliver results. Push analytical rigor in thinking and decision-making.

Establish processes and policies that improve the operational effectiveness of the finance organization and the transparency of results.

Leads and participates in negotiating business transactions and contractual arrangements including provider partnership contracts that achieve the best terms.

Use the budgeting and planning process to engage leaders and align objectives with pace of execution.

Become a trusted business partner by building strong advisory relationships with the President and HCD leadership team. Proactively address challenges with a constructive, solution-oriented approach.

Work closely with third party actuarial advisors

Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and become a subject matter expert on relevant CMS programs

Raise the financial literacy of the organization by creating awareness around the drivers of value.

Establish performance expectations, provides guidance and feedback, and promotes a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.

Required Qualifications

15+ years relevant work experience within finance

5+ years of people leader experience

Understanding of risk contracting and associated economics is a must

Actuarial experience desired but not required

Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting)

Adept at business intelligence

Adept at collaboration and teamwork

Mastery of problem solving and decision-making skills

Mastery of growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others)

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree preferred (MBA)

Education

Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification

Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:$131,500.00 - $303,200.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
