Description An up-and-coming firm has teamed up with Robert Half to find an efficient Staff Accountant to join their growing team. The responsibilities of a Staff Accountant entail preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close will be your reponsibility. In addition, you'll be in communication with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, participating in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes. The majority of time spent in this position involves producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. The Cumberland, Rhode Island based company is offering this position on a long-term contract / temporary basis. Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments Requirements - Recent and relevant accounting experience
Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Command of general ledger
Foundational knowledge in Accounts Payable (AP)
Deep understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Solid understanding of month end closings
Account analysis experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Great attention to detail
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
ERP system experience
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
