Outreach & Retention Specialist (Youth ) - Queens

AHRC NYC is looking to hire an Outreach and Retention Specialist for their Queens Train and Earn Career Pathways Program with the NY City Department of Youth and Community Development. The Train & Earn program is a career pathways program funded by the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) that provides comprehensive job training and employment services, along with support services needed by participants to find a permanent job, obtain their high school equivalency if applicable, and access postsecondary education and training.  Train & Earn is for youth and young adults aged 16–24, who are not working and not in school, and meet certain eligibility requirements. The Outreach & Retention Specialist will support the Train & Earn program with participant recruitment and program retention.Compensation Package: $50,000 - $55,000 per year plus a very generous and comprehensive Benefit Packagesee Benefit information below.Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.Location: Long Island City, QueensEssential Responsibilities:Establish relationships with community partnersConducting information session presentations and/or discussions with community partnersTraveling citywide to attend and participate in community events and public meetingsEstablishing and maintaining new relationships between the community and AHRC NYC, including business connections, internship sites, and additional support servicesEngaging community in partnership to support participant achievement and align resources.Establish Relationship with ParticipantsSupporting DYCD case managers in maintaining relationships with program participants to encourage retentionProviding trauma-informed case management services to ensure participants receive necessary support, maintaining detailed case notes and producing required reportingRegularly participating in team meetings to discuss updates and strategies for improving service deliveryServing as a liaison between staff, participants, families, community members, and service providersOnboardingActing as the primary contact for individuals exploring the DYCD programFacilitating information sessions about the program - both in-person and virtualFacilitating onboarding for all DYCD participants and ensuring all required paperwork is completed in a timely mannerDocumentation and ReportingEnsuring timely documentation of all outreach and direct service activitiesTracking and reporting on outreach efforts and direct services provided, utilizing feedback to enhance future strategiesAttending standing check-in meetings to review progress, challenges, and new initiativesMeeting or exceeding all expected program recruitment targetsGeneralWorking with the Program Director to identify and conceptualize outreach campaign strategies that meet and exceed goalsAssisting with developing content for electronic and print communications to support and market the programEngaging in ongoing professional development to stay informed on best practices for effective outreach methodologiesUndertaking additional tasks as requested by supervisors that align with the job roleAttending and participating in program-wide events as requiredPerforming other duties in accordance with the scope of the roleOnce fully oriented into the new role, expectations are that this person will be able to develop quality relationships leading to a strong qualified applicant pool. It is expected that this person will work collaboratively with the EBS managers to ensure that all program enrollments are filled. Perform other duties as assigned.
