Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corp. seeks multiple Field Service Engineers in Lincoln, Rhode Island.
Responsibilities: The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for installing, commissioning, servicing, repairing, and troubleshooting the employer’s flexible packaging machinery and equipment including associated mechanical, electrical and computer engineering systems according to blueprints and manufacturing specifications. Duties include: providing technical engineering customer support and operational services.; training customer engineering and production personnel and providing guidance with technical engineering issues; resolving customer technical engineering questions regarding machinery usage and application; working closely with customer’s engineering/production staff to troubleshoot machine or process related issues to ensure trouble free operation of the flexible packaging extrusion and printing machinery including associated computer and electrical engineering systems; providing technical engineering customer support in parts identification, recommending preventive maintenance schedules and retrofits; recommending customer retrofit solutions and packages to maintain or increase machinery performance capability or, alternatively, to enable the production of a new product; maintaining regular customer contact and providing German parent company engineering and production staff with timely feedback on quality/design issues; preparing technical engineering documentation; and performing other duties as assigned. Travel to unanticipated customer sites throughout North America (100%). Employee may be stationed anywhere in the continental U.S., but will report to Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corp. headquarters in Lincoln, RI.
Education: None.
Requirements: 2 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer/Technician (Mechanical/Electrical) or related. Other special requirements include: experience with technical background in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering including drives, PLCs, HMIs, robotics, safety systems and communication systems; experience reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical schematics and technical documentation; experience with electric drives and control systems; experience with flexible packaging extrusion and printing machinery and processes including associated computer and electrical engineering systems; experience with installing and troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems; effective verbal and written communication skills (English); willing and able to travel to unanticipated customer sites throughout North America (100%); will only consider applications from “US Workers” (US Citizen, Lawful Permanent Resident, etc.).
