Job Responsibilities
Assists the chef in the all food service operations and day-to-day operations of the kitchen.
Directs food preparation and collaborates with executive chef
Assists in overseeing and supervises kitchen staff and provides direction to kitchen staff, ensuring execution of all employee duties.
Assists with menu planning, inventory, and management of supplies.
Assists in ensuring that food is top quality and that kitchen is in good condition.
Complies with food safety standards.
Offers suggestions and creative ideas that can improve upon the kitchen’s performance.
Assists in training new employees.
Assists in ordering food & supplies.
Solves problems that arise and seizes control of issues in the kitchen.
Assists in the implementation and management of kitchen policies and procedures
Completes the duties of a event chef when needed with volume, and is capable of performing the duties of all back of house positions.
Ensures utilization of daily prep sheets and that product counts are accurate daily and maintaining a high-volume production schedule by ensuring the operation is efficient
Anticipates, identifies, and corrects any issues with inventory, systems, and staffing.
Assist in maintaining organized walk-ins and workspaces
Maintain a positive and professional approach with the team, exemplifying hospitality both internally and externally
Hours vary with four days between Monday and Friday and one weekend day. Most hours take place during the day and can start as early at 6:00am and run as late as 6:00pm. These hours are somewhat flexible week to week. Week day event focus on prep oversight and weekend events include inventory, overseeing events going out, and maintaining kitchen.

Requirements
3+ years of kitchen manager or leadership experience
Work in a catering or banquet style kitchen
Current food handler’s card and other certification as required by federal/state/local law
Comfortable using a computer, navigating standard office and point-of-sale software
Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
Ability to identify and solve problems efficiently
Strong communication and leadership skills
Knowledge of current cooking trends and best practices
Some proficiency with Numbers or Excel
Some proficiency with Google Drive
Bilingual or professional proficiency in Spanish is a plus!
Compensation
$55,000-$65,000 annually
Additional gratuities and bonuses where applicable
Starting hourly and the option to move to salary after 1 month and 6 month employment
Paid Sick Days Annually with no accrual year-to-year 40 hours
Paid Vacation Annually with no accrual year-to-year 2 weeks or 10 working days to start with an additional added after 6 months of employment for a total of 4 weeks.
with not more than 5 days to be taken consecutively without approval. Please note all vacation must be approved by supervisor.
Retirement options available through a ROTH plan with a 1% contribution match made by EE annually
Raises are given for exceptional effort and reviewed annually.
Position is subject to a 30 day review and then an annual contract will be extended if candidate meets all responsibilities noted above.
