About the Restaurants

Nestled in the heart of historic Washington Square, Bar ‘Cino is a lively and inviting modern gathering place rooted in neighborhood spirit, centered around Italian-inspired dishes, local ingredients, and a bar that invites you to explore, and stay awhile.

Attached is La Vecina Taqueria is a bright and flavorful take on modern taqueria fare with authentic street-style tacos, mezcal-forward cocktails, and bold, playful atmosphere.

About the Position

We are seeking an Executive Chef to lead the culinary operations for both Bar ‘Cino and La Vecina. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for all aspects of kitchen management — from team development to menu creation and cost control — ensuring excellence, efficiency, and profitability across both concepts.

You’ll inspire and mentor a talented culinary team, fostering a culture that values creativity, collaboration, and consistency in delivering high-quality food and service.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and direct all kitchen operations for both restaurants

Manage labor, food costs, and budgeting to achieve financial goals

Lead menu development and engineering with a focus on quality and innovation

Recruit, train, and develop culinary staff while maintaining a strong, positive team culture

Ensure safety, sanitation, and quality standards are consistently met

About You

You’re an experienced culinary professional with a passion for food, leadership, and hospitality. You thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and enjoy mentoring teams to achieve excellence. You’re as dedicated to the guest experience as you are to your craft.

Qualifications

3–5 years of experience as an Executive Chef in a high-volume, full-service restaurant

Culinary Arts degree preferred (or equivalent experience with a proven track record)

Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills

Demonstrated experience in cost control and menu execution

Flexible schedule — able to work days, nights, weekends, and some holidays

Must be able to stand for long periods and lift 25–50 lbs.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive salary: $100,000–$115,000/year
