Oberlin restaurant in downtown Providence is seeking Line Cooks to join our team. We are a small restaurant that strives for a focused, simple cuisine based on the exceptional growers and producers of Rhode Island with the highest level of attention to detail given to each guest. This level of discipline has gotten Oberlin both local and national recognition, most recently being selected as a finalist for Best Chef: Northeast by the James Beard Foundation, a glowing two-star review by Pete Wells of the New York Times and was selected as one of Bon Appetit's Hot 10 Best New Restaurants at #7.
As a cook, you will execute contemporary, seasonal cuisine sourced strictly from Rhode Island producers with enthusiasm, precision and detail. Candidate must be a motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills, work well with others and possess a strong work ethic. Organization, cleanliness and time-management skills are required.
The position entails daily mise-en-place, managing and executing a station during service, and practicing proper food storage and handling skills.
