Introducing a special opportunity to work with a middle-aged, quadriplegic gentlemen. This client lives in a studio Apt in Cumberland, (across from the Stop & Shop). He may be physically limited due to a neuromuscular disorder from birth & have an inoperable injury from a car accident 6-years-ago, but his mind is as sharp as ever! He's an intelligent, & good-hearted gentleman, & he's looking for someone like you to assist him.
Days / Hours Needed:
— Tues & Thurs: 5:30p-10:30p
— Sat & Sun 9a-5p (may require switching day for evening's, but it's the exception, more than the rule)
— For a Grand Total of 26 hours!
Your Role Will Include, but not limited to:
— Assisting with refilling my soda, meal/snack prep & feeding.
— Bathroom needs (no catheter or colostomy bags) Praise the Lord!
— Housework &/or laundry tasks.
— Administering medication(s) as needed.
Things You Should Know:
A nationwide criminal background check is mandatory (a Medicaid requirement, not the client's personal choice). Also, the client recently quit smoking cigarettes &, due to he would prefer a non-smoker. But, If the employee is willing & able to disguise the smell of cigarette smoke, whenever they enter my Apt. Designated smoking areas are available, but you need to be 50 ft away from the building.
Pay & Perks:
— Pay's: $19./hour to start, with raises every 6 Mo., for 1st 2 years! We'll have to wait & see how much of an increase Medicaid gives me every year. I could only pay my PCA's $14.50/Hr in 2019, & now, the highest paid is up to $19.40/Hr! (see, my budget increases upon year-2-year).
— Get paid more than the average Hosp or Nursing Home, & you'll only have 1 client, NOT $13/Hr or15.50/Hr here, & only one client, instead of being responsible for 8-12 patients at a time!
