Position Summary:
The Forklift Operator / Laborer for Cosco Fence & Guardrail will assist the Yard Foreman with the daily operations of the stockyard. This includes safe operation of a forklift in an outdoor stockyard, constant materials handling and physical labor required to complete these tasks.
Essential Job Functions:
- Safely operate a forklift in an outdoor environment
- Load and unload fence and guardrail materials on trucks and trailers
- Move, stack and tag materials throughout the stockyard
- Count and confirm quantities of materials received and shipped against bill of lading or load list
- Move trucks and trailers in and around the stockyard
- Ability to perform physical labor, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently through the day
- Other stockyard and warehouse duties as assigned
Experience/Qualifications:
- Proven forklift experience is required. Ability to operate trucks and other heavy equipment is preferred
- Warehouse, materials handling and inventory management experience preferred
- Self-starter with sound judgment, positive attitude, takes initiative, and adapts to changing work environment
- Drivers’ License
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
- Full time, day shift with overtime
- Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds as required throughout the workday
- Outdoor environment with exposure to weather
