Job Title: Production Floor Planner
Department: Operations
Location: Smithfield, RI
Reports to: Plant Manager
Position Summary:
We are looking for a qualified Production Floor Planner to organize production according to the Master Production Plan and Quality Standards. You will be the one to ensure our goods are produced on time for distribution in a profitable manner. An excellent production planner is well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimize them. They are organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills. Advanced communication and computer skills are very useful for the role. The goal is to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient flow of our production operations.
Essential Functions/Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple products.
2. Create all work order based on Master Production Schedule which includes but not limited to Preproduction, post production.
3. Provide the production floor with a daily machine setup sheet.
4. SAP Supply planning.
5. Back fill finish good parts into Desma production work orders.
6. Fill out all pre and post process work sheets to ensure accuracy.
7. Record all Kanban information for Chemical drums.
8. Work with Procurement & Logistics Clerk on ordering raw materials.
9. Set and plan machine shop queue to demand.
10. Work with Quality to schedule new production molds on the machine.
11. Work with Product development on scheduling samples.
12. Keep paperwork organized.
13. Collaborate with quality control, warehouse and other staff.
Skills/Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required which include but are not limited to:
1. High School diploma required; further education or certification preferred
2. 5+ year of proven experience in production coordination and planning
3. Demonstratable knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
4. Demonstratable Knowledge of Bill Of Materials, Bill Of Operations, and Production Orders
5. Experience in MRP (Manufacturing resource planning)
6. Excellent skills in Excel

Work Environment
This position operates in both an office and warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets. Additionally, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, above average temperatures, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Trained in all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 40 hours per week.
Travel
Travel is local during the business day.
