Tracy Glover Studio is a small artist-run business that manufactures custom glass lighting and tableware. We are looking for a new member for our production team to assist our metal fabricator and to pack fragile glass fixtures for shipment. Responsibilities can vary based on prior experience, skillset, and what you’re willing to learn. Every day is a bit different so we’re looking for someone with creativity and adaptability.
Experience required:
Familiarity with power tools
Good hand skills
Ability to handle fragile glass objects and metal finishes with care
Ability to follow safety requirements while working with hazardous materials
Organizational skills
Experience preferred:
Prior experience in a production environment
Metalworking
buffing/sanding metal
Not required, but a plus:
Knowledge of lighting and wiring light fixtures
Experience coldworking glass
Responsibilities:
Wrapping and packing extremely fragile glass objects based on established packing procedures
Occasionally constructing boxes to fit an unusually shaped fixture
Entering shipping information into UPS Worldship
Ordering supplies
Sanding, buffing, and finishing metals (typically raw brass and aluminum)
Wiring sockets for lighting
Following UL standards for testing wiring to ensure safety and effectiveness
Attention to detail and safety procedures
Use a pallet jack to send/receive crated or palletized shipments
Lifting 25 lbs or more (can be flexible)
