DescriptionThe Cyber Defense Threat Detection Manager - A will be a resident subject matter expert within the Cyber Security and Resilience (CS&R) Cyber Defense team. In this role you will oversee a team of Cyber Threat Detection (CTD) Analysts as well as working closely and collaborating with Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI), Cyber Operations Support (COS), Cyber Applications Support (CAS), Cyber Advanced Practices (CAP), and Cyber Detection Engineering (CDE). This collaboration will help mature the existing Cyber Defense and CTD team metrics, Documentation, Create Career Development Paths, Training Plans and Continuous Improvement programs.The individual’s responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Assist in providing direction for CTD, to include mentoring and collaborating on building security operations functions that span the corporate security portfolio of security controls.
Develop existing and future analysts under your purview through mentoring and QA checking to help retain talent while ensuring current staff is proficient in their job function.
Develop continuous improvement processes and communication strategies to ensure a timely and responsive approach to both incidents identified internally and externally.
Recommend continuous improvements to security services and applications.
Provide mentorship to a cross-functional security operations team and assist the teams responsible for information security operations.
Help drive and deliver on strategic direction for information security operations.
Understand the Bank’s business and define what is technically needed to acquire, operate, and maintain the security controls to protect the Bank, customer data and systems.
Work closely with Application Support team to provide feedback on security controls, operational effectiveness, and efficiency, and drive improvements into controls and processes.
Collaborate with other corporate security teams to analyze and prioritize deployment, implementation, operation, and maintenance of security controls.
Help develop and mature meaningful metrics to reflect both analyst performance to effectively manage accountability and the true posture of the environment allowing the organization to make educated decisions based on risk.
This 4 day, 40 hours per week role is a 1st shift, Monday through Thursday opportunity in our Security Operation Center with the hours of 7:00AM – 5:00PM and is based in our Riverside, Rhode Island location and is not being considered for remote work.Experience and Skills:
5 years’ experience in the cyber security industry with experience in cyber security operations, systems compliance and hardening, network operations and operational support roles.
2 years of leadership and/or mentoring experience.
Working level experience securing IT systems, authentication and/or system management experience.
Excellent oral, written communications, time management, and presentation skills.
Must possess strong analytical, and critical thinking skills.
Must possess excellent soft skills, with an emphasis on promoting positive culture and colleague development.
Self-motivation with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Analytical problem-solving capabilities, strong decision-making skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with individuals across all levels the organization.
Highly collaborative with the ability to influence and drive behavior across the organization with other teams, such as system operations, infrastructure, auditors, security personnel, etc.
Ability to design, evaluate and document processes, and lead teams in accomplishing process review and improvement.
Previous experience deploying security controls and/or related solutions.
Previous experience designing and building out Security Operation Centers and Teams.
Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials:
Bachelor’s Degree (Security / IT Related) or equivalent combination of experience
A combination of relevant industry certifications including, but not limited to CISSP, ITIL Foundations, CEH, CISM or CISA preferred

Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
