Link Solutions is seeking a Computer Desktop Support Technician at Rock Island Arsenal, IL. Must be a US CitizenNon-remote: (A sign-on relocation bonus is available.)Link Solutions has an immediate opening for a Tier 2 Computer Desktop Support Technician. The Support Technician will provide Tier 2 touch labor on-site and remote support for computer workstations, printers, peripherals, and multifunction scan/print devices.Job Responsibilities:Migrate, repair, install, test, maintain, and upgrade computers, and network operating systems software.Plan and implement system support including printers, VPN clients, and bar-code scanners.Monitor and manage several ticket queues in Remedy. Document solutions and workarounds, and maintain the knowledge database (e.g. known errors, workarounds).Assist in the design, planning, and implementation of configuration and installation of new hardware and software.Respond to user requests and assure timely follow-up on all helpdesk issues.Configure computer workstations to attach to enterprise-level print servers.Perform workstation imaging and equipment lifecycles/upgrades.Perform troubleshooting and provide solutions to common and advanced workstation issues.Provide input on the effectiveness of deskside support system methods and procedures.Assist in the patching of desktop clients and end-user devices.Load new software onto workstations.Conducts site surveys; assesses and documents current site configuration and user requirements.Configures computers, communications devices, and peripheral equipment.Works to configure and maintain both commercial and on-site developed software. Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
