Ocean House ManagementAssistant Director of Human Resources Scope of PositionThe Assistant Director of Human Resources plays a pivotal role in supporting the HR department's strategic initiatives and daily operations. Reporting directly to the Group Director of Human Resources, this position assists with overseeing key HR functions such as, employee relations, recruitment and onboarding, performance management, compliance, training, and benefits administration. The Assistant Director works closely with the HR Director and other leadership to implement policies and programs that align with organizational goals. The Assistant Director of HR serves as a key advisor to managers and staff member, providing guidance on HR matters while promoting the organization's values, enhancing employee engagement and ensuring compliance with labor laws. Schedule RequirementsThe operation is 24 hours a day 7 days a week, inclusive of all holidays.  While the company will make every attempt to create a work and life balance, all exempt team members may be required to work extended shifts and additional days based on business demands.  Working more than eight hours per day and more than five consecutive days as needed is an essential job function for all exempt roles.  Travel may be required and may include some overnight stays.  All exempt team members should be responsible in scheduling their time off. Key strategies, policies, and programs aligned with company goals.Contribute to the company’s culture-building efforts, promoting employee engagement and retention.Manage HR staff and assist with day-to-day operations as needed.Support talent development initiatives, including training programs, leadership development, and succession planning.Monitor and evaluate HR metrics and provide reports to Group HR Director for continuous improvement.Assist in managing employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.Communicates noteworthy activities to the management team utilizing the prescribed communication methods.Collaborate with department heads to address HR needs and improve workforce performance.Assist with providing guidance and support on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standardsMaintain files on resource areas to include Worker’s CompensationAssist with interviewing applicants for management positions and submitting recommendations.Ensure accurate maintenance of all employee files.Assist with ensuring the execution and implementation of the performance reviews processConduct and document exit interviews with exiting employeesConduct all necessary and requested audits on Human Resources functionsComplete and maintain current records on a competitive wage and benefit survey for all hotelRepresent the Company with a positive attitude and professional attireFollow sustainability guidelines and practices related to Ocean House’s sustainability programsAssist with integrating, managing, and promoting the OHM’s Mission and Values, ensuring they become a fundamental part of daily operations.Carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this job description and which are commensurate with the role Required Job Knowledge and SkillsIn-depth understanding of HR Management functions, including employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, recruitment and compliance.Comprehensive knowledge of local, state, and federal labor laws, including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and other employment-related regulationsFamiliarity with strategies for employee engagement, workforce development, and organizational culture improvementProficient in HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) and other relevant software tools for tracking performance, payroll, and employee dataExpertise in resolving complex employee relations issues, handling grievances, and mediating disputes effectivelyKnowledge of implementing and managing organizational change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions during periods of changeProven experience in a leadership or management role within HR, with at least 2-5 years of progressive HR experienceExperience in developing, implementing, and revising HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and alignment with company goalsCompute accurate mathematical calculationsStrong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels, management, and external partners.Uphold the Company standards, policies and proceduresMaintain confidentiality of guest/employee information and pertinent hotel data QualificationsA bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field required or equivalent work experience.SHRM or PHR Certification preferredStrong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels, management, and external partners.Ability to handle complex HR challenges, think strategically, and offer practical solutions.Experience managing multiple HR projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and managing resources effectively.Strong interpersonal and emotional intelligence to manage sensitive situations and maintain positive relationships with employees and
