We are engineers and technicians, skilled scientists and bold innovators; Join us and put your passion, determination, and skill to work building the future! #TheFutureIsBuiltHere #ChangeTheWorldBR&T is looking for an Associate Materials, Process and Physics (MP&P) Engineer to join our Advanced Production Systems team based out of Charleston, South Carolina.This role is an engineering position that supports both R&D (research and development) and the production of various programs both within BCA (Boeing Commercial Airplanes), BDS (Boeing Defense, Space, and Security), and BGS (Boeing Global Services).Position Responsibilities:Assists with definition of requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and/or maintenance of Boeing products

Drafts engineering specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes

Assists in evaluation of emerging technologies for potential application to business needs

Assists with development and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements

Performs routine tests and audits to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements

Conducts routine analysis to determine performance or reasons for failures of tools, materials, parts or processes

Assists in implementing corrective and preventive actions

Develops computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements

Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements

Incorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research, design and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas

T his position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location. On-site work will be at a minimum of 2 days per week.This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):A Bachelor's degree or higher in Materials and Science engineering, Metallurgy, Aerospace engineering, Mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Systems Engineering

Experience creating new ideas and working it to qualification including coordinating with suppliers developing part concepts, identifying qualification testing, developing test procedures, oversee testing, and analyzing results

Experience working with research, operations and/or manufacturing environment

Typical Education/Experience:Bachelor's degree and typically 2 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
