With strong organisational backing and a focus on continuous improvement, this role offers the chance to shape payroll operations at scale and partner closely with senior stakeholders.Be part of a high-performing team where your expertise will directly impact both employee experience and business success.Responsibilities Lead the end‑to‑end payroll process, ensuring all payroll cycles are delivered accurately, on time and in compliance with legislative and industrial requirementsProvide hands-on people leadership to a team of Payroll Officers, growing capability, consistency and a culture of continuous improvementAct as the primary technical escalation point for complex payroll queries, calculations, corrections and interpretationsEnsure strong payroll controls, reconciliations, audits and sign‑off processes are in place and adhered toMaintain a deep understanding of awards, enterprise agreements, payroll legislation and system configurationIdentify and lead process improvement opportunities to reduce manual effort, errors and duplicationPartner with HR, Retail Operations, Finance and Systems teams to resolve issues and improve payroll outcomesManage payroll risks, incidents and remediation actions with clear communication and accountabilityEnsure payroll documentation, procedures and training materials are current, clear and fit for purpose
