Title: Programmer Analyst / System Analyst/ Interface Engineer Duration: Long Term Location: Pierre, SD or Remote
The successful candidate should have the following knowledge and experience for this position:
Knowledge of Medicaid & CHIP Eligibility System operations and data
General knowledge of how business is conducted within the State of South Dakota.
5+ years experience programming in COBOL.
2-3 years of experience using webMethods as an ETL.
Job Description:
Responsible for gathering the requirements specification, design, and development of system interfaces to and from the new Medicaid & CHIP Eligibility System. These interfaces include on-line, real-time,batch, and file transfer interface types to and from many internal and external data systems.
Responsible for requirements specification, design and development of common interface components, implementation of middleware technologies, and other interface architecture solutions.
Will work closely with State and Vendor Interface staff to ensure all interfaces are designed and developed in accordance with requirements.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Participate in requirements verification sessions and approve/accept all interface requirements specification deliverables;
Participate in the design of system interfaces and approve/accept all general and detailed interface design deliverables;
Participate in testing and approve/accept interface test plans and deliverables;
As a member of the project's technical team, participate in reviews of other technical deliverables;

Ability to identify and communicate technical issues, both verbally and written, to project management;
Ability to develop recommendations and facilitate the resolution of interface issues with the project, agency IT, and vendor staff;
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with vendor and State technical staff;
Understanding of system interface architecture best practices;
Working knowledge of middleware tools and use in interface design and development;
Techno-Functional background with an understanding of Integration and APIs;
Ability to work within a demanding project environment;
Bachelor's degree plus five years of experience in systems development with an emphasis on interface development.
