Choice Products, Inc, a fundraising company since 1984 based in Eau Clarie,WI, is looking for a Freight Broker/Warehouse Manager for our Spencer, IA facility. This position would help manage in-house freight shipments as well as third-party logistics for outside customers. In this role, it's your responsibility to not only arrange shipment transportation but also help negotiate better rates and provide tracking information to clients. You will also have to fulfill the duties of the warehouse manager, a role in which you have a more hands-on role with the shipments in and out our warehouse, as well as manage seasonal warehouse personnel and seasonal delivery drivers. Our ideal applicant has experience with both roles, as well as relationship management, freight sales, and inside sales, but would consider work experience in either capacity.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee and facilitate truckload shipments on behalf of clients and Choice Products
Identify and select reputable and safe carriers for freight services
Negotiate rates with customers clients and sell loads to carriers for profit
Arrange for scheduled pickup and delivery appointments and provide necessary tracking information to clients
Work to build relationships with new and existing customers
Plan work and assign loads to delivery drivers when needed
Manage inbound and outbound freight coming into and out of the warehouse
Help to recruit, select, and supervise seasonal delivery drivers and warehouse staff
Requirements and Qualifications
High school diploma or GED certificate
1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role or a proven track record of sales experience
Strong customer service skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
Ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially Outlook
Drive and focus to work independently without supervision and get results
Established book of business preferred but not necessary
Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets
