Omega Morgan is currently seeking trailer operators and pilots for our WIND Transportation department. Omega Morgan specializes in Crane Services, Machinery Moving, Specialized Heavy Rigging/ Transportation and Millwright/Industrial services. These positions will help move WIND towers, blades and other parts to different locations to drop off supplies directed by dispatch. You will be helping and guiding the drivers to secure all loads.

A pilot is a driver who works in conjunction with the driver of an oversize truckload to make sure the truck reaches its destination safely. The pilot driver travels in front of or in back of the truck in a separate vehicle, warning the public if there are traffic changes or obstacles due to the truckload. They also warn the truck if there is anything up ahead that can interfere with its safe passage. Furthermore, the person who is driving the car will be able to communicate via CB radio with the truck driver. This allows the pilot car driver to tell the trucker if there are accidents, traffic backups, or any other situations requiring attention.

Training will be provided for all positions!

Primary Responsibilities and Job Functions include the following:

-Plan, organize all loads and trips to maximize time and resources.

-Work in cooperation with Operations and dispatch team to ensure customer satisfaction each and every time

-Effectively communicate with dispatch on a regular basis.

-Manage risk and liability from the field and communicate any issues back to the operations team.

-Drives up to ten hours a day, in compliance with all federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.

-Maintains vehicles and equipment and reports on the machinery.

-Conducts pre and post-trip checks.

-Abides by all DOT regulations, including hours of service

-Operates and at all times and under all types of conditions drives vehicle in a risk aversive manner

-Know and enforce the safety policy and set an example at all times.

-Ensure cleanliness by inspecting prior to loading and once unloaded

-Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.

-Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.

Preferred but not required:

Hold a state driver license

experience with double/half schnables

Availability to travel

Prompt and reliable with excellent organization skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and anticipate issues that need attention.

Ability to consistently meet deadlines and follow up with little direction.

Work under moderate supervision with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Pass a drug test, background check, road test, driving record review, and physical assessment
