Key job responsibilities include: underwriting real estate; underwriting borrowers; and helping to process, fulfill, and service loans.The work environment is collegial. At the same time, it enables those with initiative and talent to stand out. A successful Loan Underwriter may quickly grow responsibility and compensation. One potential path of progression is to a sales/originations role, working with existing and potential clients to originate loans.Qualifications:The success of BFI is based on originating loans that repay. Attention to detail is critical. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially on the phone, will become necessary. This position will require moderate Excel, Word, and Outlook skills which can be learned on the job.BFI embraces a strong service-based culture. The Loan Underwriter should expect to work 45 hours in a typical week, or roughly 8:15-5:45 with half an hour off for lunch. Certain days/weeks will require greater hours. There will be minimal to zero travel. Education: A bachelor’s degree. Please include GPA with resume submission and any other school and standardize testing scores you feel relevant.
