Weekly Hours: VariesDepartment DetailsLab Assistant- Blood Bank (Blood Mobile/Donor Room)SummaryResponsibilities include blood donor interviewing, phlebotomy, and collection of blood units.Job DescriptionResponsible for collecting blood units from donors at blood drives or in donor rooms. Duties include performing vital signs, donor interview, phlebotomy and post donation care. Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment.Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred.Job SummaryResponsibilities include phlebotomy, collecting, preparing and processing specimens biological specimens. Assists in performing laboratory activities and other assigned tasks. Aids in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies. May be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results. Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment. Expected to train and onboard new employees.QualificationsHigh school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required.One year of laboratory related experience preferred.Phlebotomy certification required or registry eligible to take exam within 12 months of hire.
