Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our mobile service team. This role involves traveling to customer sites in a fully equipped service truck to diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, works well independently, and takes pride in delivering professional service on every job. This role requires strong technical knowledge, independent problem-solving, and the ability to deliver excellent service directly at customer locations. Starting early July 2025.
Key Responsibilities
-Diagnose and repair all makes and models of Class 3 to Class 8 trucks, with some light-duty repairs.
-Perform on-site diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, electrical systems, and other vehicle components.
-Conduct DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and occasional emergency roadside repairs.
-Maintain accurate service records and communicate findings and recommendations to the business owner and customers.
-Operate and maintain a service truck and equipment in a safe and organized manner.
-Adhere to company safety standards, procedures, and industry regulations, including utilizing cranes for lifting heavy components safely during repairs.
-Provide exceptional customer service and represent Fleet Pros professionally in the field.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
-5+ years of hands-on experience with diesel trucks, heavy equipment, or commercial fleets
-Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical diagnostics, and emissions systems
-Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions in the field
-Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
-CDL or the ability to obtain
-Must own and bring basic tools
-Comfortable using diagnostic software, mobile apps, and service documentation systems
-Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
