The role plays an important part in working capital management, with primary responsibilities across revenue and WIP management.The role combines strong financial discipline with proactive business partnering, helping Partners and senior stakeholders optimise profitability, improve cash conversion, and manage financial risk. The Analyst will play a critical role in enhancing commercial decision-making through data-driven insights and close engagement with stakeholders.The role requires a self-starter with a positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn. As a global firm with a growing presence in Australia, Clifford Chance offers the right individual a rewarding opportunity to build a long-term career and grow alongside the business.The RoleWorking Capital Management/Commercial Advisory SupportMonitor and manage work in progress (WIP), billing, and collections across assigned matters/portfoliosTrack aged WIP and debt balances, proactively identifying risks and escalation pointsSupport billing processes, as needed, to ensure accuracy and completenessPartner with stakeholders to drive timely billing and collection of outstanding invoicesMaintain data integrity across working capital systems and reporting toolsAssist in the preparation of cash collection forecasting, bill forecasting and income flash reportingCommercial Advisory & Matter EconomicsProvide financial insight into matter performance, including profitability, recovery rates, and cost driversSupport pricing discussions through analysis of rate structures, fee arrangements, and commercial termsAssist in the evaluation of alternative fee arrangements and their financial implicationsAnalyse variances between expected and actual performance, highlighting opportunities for improvementSupport decision-making by translating financial data into clear commercial recommendationsBusiness PartneringDevelop strong relationships with Partners, lawyers, and Business Development teamsAct as a trusted finance contact to support discussions on billing, collections, and profitabilityChallenge and influence behaviours where necessary to improve financial outcomesSupport regular financial reviews with stakeholders, providing insights and driving actionsReporting & AnalyticsLeverage Matter IQ/WIP Tool for WIP, debt, billing, and cash collection trendsLeverage BI tools and dashboards to deliver actionable insightsSupport forecasting of cash flow, revenues, and working capital movementsIdentify trends and risks, providing forward-looking analysisGeneral Controls, Compliance and AuditMaintain strong knowledge of Matter Set-up, WIP, Billings and Collections-related policies, controls, and procedures.Support internal audits and FGP reviewsAd hocOther duties as directed by HOF or Working Capital Controller
